Job Summary
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Valid South African Driver's Licence.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
Experience
- First Aid Training Certificate.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in patient transport, healthcare transport, courier, logistics, or similar driving role.
- POPIA requirements relating to patient confidentiality.
Knowledge
Valid licence/PDP requirements where applicable, defensive driving, pre-trip vehicle checks, safe passenger loading/unloading, seatbelts, wheelchair securing and safe use of ramps or mobility equipment.
Working conditions
Primarily road-based, transporting patients between their homes and healthcare facilities. Requires extended driving, assisting patients with safe boarding and mobility where needed, and working in varying traffic and weather conditions. Working hours may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays, depending on patient dialysis schedules.
