Job Summary
We are looking for a logical, strategic thinking, mature individual to join our client in Bryanston as a Regional Head of Business Development. The ideal candidate must come from the Recycling Industry and be comfortable travelling nationally when required.
Duties:
- Generate new high-quality leads for TGRC to increase glass collections who will supply glass to glass manufacturers and others.
- Grow current glass collections from existing suppliers
- Achieve mandatory glass collection volumes and targets as prescribed by EPR regulations
Relationship Management:
- Monthly visitations to monitor performance of all entrepreneurs/buy-back centers (establish and report on number of people employed, volumes generated, ROI (volumes versus investment) and assets verification).
- Field trips to all regions to source new entrepreneurs/ buy-back
- Develop existing cullet suppliers to grow cullet recoveries
- Constant engagement with Municipalities to increase glass collections and recoveries
- Ensure timeous delivery of assets consumables
- Indemnification of poorly performing areas and ensure corrective action
- Routine asset audits
- Monitor and track the servicing of glass banks (24hour turnround)
- Maintain and establish relationships with NGO's, community-based organisations, provincial and government entities
Monitoring and Reporting
- Timeous submission of month end reports
- Achieve collected tonnage
- Co-ordinate efficient placement and transportation of glass banks
- Provide optimum infrastructure and consumable support for collection
- Consolidate applications and forward them to BDM
- Submit monthly variance reports (actual versus budgeted cullet recoveries) for region and motivate reasons for variances
- Compile information on local trends
- Maintain records for all enquiries
- Ensure load agreements and acknowledge receipt of assets and consumables (Submit to BDM)
- Maintain records for all consumables
- Recommendations for relocation of poorly performing glass banks, skip bins etc.
- Conduct business in accordance with Companies and competitions acts
- Monthly reporting
- Monitor glass collection volumes and market data, to assist where business can be developed
- Establish additional sources of cullet supplies through engagements with different stakeholders (Hospitals, shopping malls etc.)
- Establish and update TGRC database of glass Recyling performance regionally
