Job Summary
A well-established property development and residential construction company with a strong track record of delivering high-quality housing projects, is currently seeking a Foreman to join their team in Johannesburg.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional to oversee residential building projects, coordinate site activities, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily site operations and ensure projects are executed according to approved programmes and deadlines.
- Understand the technical requirements of each project and ensure they are incorporated into project plans and implemented by appropriately skilled personnel.
- Interpret and implement detailed Microsoft bar chart block programmes accurately.
- Monitor project progress proactively to ensure deliverables remain on schedule and meet required specifications.
- Coordinate site teams and provide clear daily work instructions and performance expectations.
- Ensure quality control processes are followed, with accurate completion and timely submission of quality documentation and engineer sign-offs.
- Complete and submit timesheets, reports, and month-end documentation accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliant and efficient handover of completed units to clients.
- Submit expense claims with the required supporting documentation and approvals.
- Conduct thorough quality inspections throughout project execution to minimise rework.
- Identify project issues promptly, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate project records and communicate progress effectively with management.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) is required.
- A construction-related qualification will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Foreman on residential construction projects.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, site supervision, and quality control.
- Experience interpreting and implementing construction programmes.
- Excellent leadership and team coordination skills.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
- Proficiency in completing project documentation and reporting accurately.
