Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Administrator to join a busy and fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for someone with a solid payroll foundation who is comfortable managing a high-volume payroll and assisting with general HR administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and administer monthly payroll for approximately 250 employees
- Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, wages, deductions, overtime and leave
- Maintain and update employee payroll records
- Process new engagements, terminations and payroll changes
- Handle statutory deductions and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
- Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll-related accounts
- Respond to payroll queries from staff in a professional and timely manner
- Assist with general HR administration and ad hoc duties
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a payroll administration role
- Experience processing payroll for a staff complement of ±250 employees
- Working knowledge of Pastel Payroll is highly advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Proficient in MS Excel and general computer literacy
