Job Summary

CORE PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This role involves providing secretarial support to the Head of the Department of Agriculture and Game Management, as well as assisting academic staff with their administrative duties.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
•Arrange and type all official documentation.
•Handle all telephonic enquiries.
•Implement and maintain a systematic filing system.
•Manage the diary of the HoD.
•Make all travel, accommodation, and venue arrangements.
•Arrange meetings and venues.
•Handle all incoming and outgoing mail.
•Capture test, class, and examination marks on the ITS system.

•Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
•Ability to analyse and interpret information.
•Computer skills (ITS, MS Office, Excel, Internet, Databases, email).
•Good verbal and written communication skills.
•Good interpersonal skills.
REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this position, candidates must have a Grade 12 certificate. A minimum of five years of secretarial working experience in higher education, in which competency has been gained. An M+ qualification in Secretarial Studies or Office Management would be an additional advantage.
