CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

To facilitate the learning process in Management Accounting and Finance for undergraduate students, the majority of whom intend to qualify as a professional accountant via various professional bodies.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Facilitate the learning process in Management Accounting and Finance (by taking responsibility for course material, lectures, tutorials and setting and moderating assessments) for undergraduate students, the majority of whom intend to qualify as professional accountant via various professional bodies
• Coordinate undergraduate academic programs.
• Undertake research and scholarly activities.
• Engage with professional bodies and other stakeholders.
• Perform related administrative duties.

CORE COMPETENCIES

• Sound knowledge in the theory and application of Management Accounting and Finance including recent trends and developments in the field.
• Experience in facilitating learning for undergraduate students intending to qualify as a professional accountant.
• Potential to contribute to the creation of knowledge in research and publication.

• Strong communication (written/verbal) skills.
• Initiative and the motivation to work without needing extensive supervision.

• Experience in blended learning practices.
• Experience and a thorough understanding of trending technologies including data and/or accounting analytics.

REQUIREMENTS

In order to be considered for this lecturer rank, candidates should:

• Possess a professional accounting designation in good standing; and
• Be in possession of an NQF 8 qualification specialising in Management Accounting and Finance *; and
• Have at least 3 years relevant or related working experience in Management Accounting and Finance and/or experience in the facilitation of learning in Management Accounting and Finance.

* Preference will be given to candidates who have made progress towards a Masters degree specialising in Management Accounting and Finance.
