Job Summary
JOB OVERVIEW / ROLE PURPOSE
The Debtors and Foreign Currency Administrator is responsible for the full debtors’ function of the company, as well as providing support with the administration of currency-related transactions. The role requires accuracy, strong administrative skills, excellent time management, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
Debtors Function:
- Daily bank reconciliation for the Deposit account.
- Extracting the debtors list twice a day:
- Mornings after completion of the bank reconciliation, afternoons at 16:00
- Sending out debtor statements:
- Daily, weekly, and monthly as required
- Submitting credit limit applications to Nedbank where necessary
- Submitting credit insurance limit applications to CGIC if required
- Capturing and processing debtor journals
- Applying payments to customer accounts in the system
- Following up on outstanding debtors and supporting the finance team where needed
Foreign Currency Function:
- Executing forex hedges as requested by the sales team
- Accurate updating and maintenance of the Forex Sheet, including:
- New hedges taken
- Dates, amounts, exchange rates, and other relevant details
- Ensuring all foreign currency information is up to date and accurate for internal reporting
- Communicating with banks or service providers regarding foreign currency transactions when required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications:
- Matric
- Financial or Business Administration Qualifications
Experience & Skills required:
- Experience in debtors administration and basic financial processes
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to work with numerical data
- Knowledge of foreign currency processes
- High level of accuracy, detail orientation, and reliability
- Good communication skills and professional client service
- Bilingual with strong Afrikaans language skills
