This role sits at the heart of the business, shaping financial integrity, governance, and operational control across the group. It is an opportunity to partner closely with executive leadership while maintaining hands-on accountability for financial performance.
Reporting to the Financial Director, the Financial Accountant is responsible for the full financial, administrative, and risk management operations of the group and its subsidiaries. The role supports strategic decision-making, ensures statutory compliance, and drives strong financial controls to enable sustainable growth.
The position operates across group and subsidiary level, engaging with internal executives as well as external auditors, regulators, banks, and other third parties. It combines technical accounting depth with governance, operational oversight, and people leadership.

What You’ll Do
Support the Financial Director in developing and implementing financial strategy
Ensure compliance with all statutory financial and tax requirements, including VAT, payroll taxes, and income tax
Prepare audit files and manage internal and external audit processes
Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, receivable, payroll, cash management, and credit control
Review monthly results and produce variance analysis and management reports
Support board, EXCO, and executive reporting requirements
Manage group consolidation processes
Implement and maintain strong internal controls and governance frameworks
Oversee outsourced financial services and third-party providers
Identify opportunities to improve financial efficiencies across the group
Support acquisition due diligence where required
Oversee administrative, lease, and contract management functions
Engage with auditors on findings, risks, and recommendations
Manage HR-related statutory requirements, including BEE and skills development audits
Coach and mentor junior and subsidiary finance team members
What You Bring
BCom degree in Accounting
Solid experience in financial accounting and reporting
Strong understanding of corporate governance, audits, and compliance
Experience managing group or multi-entity financial structures
High attention to detail with strong analytical and logical thinking
Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
Proven ability to manage priorities, deadlines, and multiple stakeholders
High levels of integrity, accountability, and professionalism
