Job Summary
Our Client, a market leader in the Packaging and Recycling Industry, is seeking to employ a Printer Operator to their Production Department based in Port Elizabeth.
This is an urgent requirement, and 2 printer operators are required.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Qualification in Trade of Corrugated Board Printing and Finishing Machine Minding.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience operating a printing machine.
- Knowledge of controlling operations, equipment, or systems (IoT).
- Computer literacy in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or equivalent in-house systems.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal abilities.
- Understanding of ink viscosity and colour matching.
- Able and willing to work shifts and overtime when required.
- Proactive, responsible, and reliable.
- Able to work independently.
- High attention to detail.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Operate and set up printing machines as per job requirements.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental procedures (ISO standards).
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a safe work environment.
- Review and assess work orders to meet production specifications.
- Ensure final product meets customer requirements.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards within the department.
- Update and maintain in-house systems daily.
- Actively contribute to improving machine availability through adherence to maintenance systems.
