Job Summary
Our client, a well-established organisation operating within the manufacturing and logistics industry, is seeking to employ an experienced Stock Controller to join their Operations team based in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Tertiary qualification in Warehouse Management, Logistics Management or Stock Management
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with accounting software
- Minimum 3 years’ working experience in the warehousing/logistics field
- Budget and forecast planning experience
- Solid organizational and administrative experience
- IT competencies: MS Outlook, Word, Power Point & Excel and Stock Management software solutions
- Pastel Accounting or similar inventory software experience
- Valid Forklift License
- Valid South African Driver’s License
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Stock Management
- Arrange factory parts and material in marked and colour-coded bins to correspond with correct door models / bills of materials
- Ensure all stock is placed in correct bins and locations in the stock room at all times
- Control signing out and signing back in of stock extracted by staff for repairs / installation / maintenance
- Receive stock deliveries and ensure correct documentation is completed at the time of receipt
- Compare delivery notes and invoices with stock delivered to ensure accuracy
- Notify management of any stock discrepancies, shortages or excess
- Perform spot checks on deliveries to customers, comparing documentation with loads
- Assist customers collecting stock with required documentation
- Assist with cycle and quarterly stock counting, ensuring accuracy and quality
Quality Control
- Ensure outgoing quality standards are achieved and monitor incoming product standards
- Monitor quality of stock and investigate issues where necessary
- Ensure quality checks are executed and documentation is in order
Administrative Duties
- Maintain full knowledge (within scope) of the Pastel Accounting system and implement stock control accurately
- Take full accountability for the storeroom, ensuring correct markings, placements and dispatch
- Ensure correct documentation is completed and assigned according to procedures
- Communicate job schedules and participate in production/operations meetings
- Source best priced quality items from suppliers
- Place orders with suppliers
Financial Administration
- Ensure filing is done regularly, accurately and in line with departmental standards
- Assist with maintaining inventory files during stock counts and cycle counts
