Job Summary
Our client, based in Gouda, Western Cape, is a dynamic manufacturing and innovation company specialising in innovative fruit-based products for local and international markets. The Group is looking for a Production Planner to coordinate and optimise production schedules, resources and capacity, ensuring efficient production processes and the timely delivery of products in line with customer and business requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain high occupational safety standards.
Uphold high product quality.
Maintain high food safety standards according to the BRC global standard for food safety.
Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture products for the Edible, Deco and Phytomedicine Departments.
Creates works orders for manufactured products for the Edible, Deco and Phytomedicine Departments.
Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders as far as six months.
Update schedule on the planning systems
Draw sales reports and distribute it to the relevant departments (Stock levels and OTIF against sales)
Liaise with sales team on upcoming orders.
Liaise with procurement about availability of raw material.
Material requirement planning.
Record keeping of daily production.
Creating plans to lower rework.
Monitors rework by monitoing targets versus actual, report on weekly progress and creating plans.
Responsible for maintaining the Expedite system.
Implement at least two new ideas (innovations) in your department monthly.
REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 with Maths and Science and at least 3 years related experience.
Knowledge about HACCP and BRC.
Ability to motivate others to meet the demands established by the schedule.
The ability to pay profound attention to detail.
Good communicating and listening skills.
Good mathematical skills.
Basic understanding of computers.
