We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Asphalt Plant Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring the asphalt plant to ensure the safe, efficient, and consistent production of high-quality asphalt in accordance with production schedules and quality standards. Key Responsibilities • Operate and monitor the asphalt plant to achieve production targets. • Ensure asphalt is produced to the required specifications and quality standards. • Conduct pre-start inspections and routine operational checks on plant equipment. • Monitor plant controls, temperatures, material feed rates, and production processes. • Perform basic maintenance and lubrication of plant equipment and report defects promptly. • Maintain accurate production, maintenance, and stock records. • Coordinate with maintenance personnel to minimise equipment downtime. • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality management requirements. • Keep the plant and surrounding work areas clean and well maintained. • Assist with stock management of aggregates, bitumen, and other raw materials. • Perform any other duties assigned by the Plant Superintendent Minimum Requirements • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent. • Relevant qualification in Ammann Asphalt Plant operations, engineering, or a related field will be an advantage. • Minimum of 3 years' experience operating an asphalt plant or similar industrial plant. • Knowledge of asphalt production processes and plant control systems. • Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills. • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and overtime when required. • Valid driver's licence (Code B or higher) will be an advantage. Preferred Skills • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety. • Good communication and teamwork skills. • Excellent attention to detail and quality control. • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues. • Good planning and organisational skills. • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines. • Reliable, responsible, and self-motivated.
