Engineering Foreman
A vacancy is available for a qualified and experienced Engineering Foreman.
Purpose of the Role:
To plan, allocate, and oversee daily work for artisans and apprentices involved in maintenance, construction, and minor improvement projects, ensuring all tasks are completed to high standards of quality, productivity, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, allocate, and control work for artisans and contractors with a focus on quality, productivity, and safety
- Ensure all administrative duties are completed accurately and submitted in line with company procedures
- Quantify materials, manage changes in work programs, and respond effectively to breakdowns and emergencies
- Initiate and approve store requisitions, liaising with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
- Conduct maintenance planning, including off-crop periods
- Lead and manage team performance effectively
- Ensure compliance with production, safety, ISO, and Quality Management standards
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Core Mathematics
- N4 in an Engineering discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering maintenance
- At least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or team management role
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing customer and supplier relationships
- Experience with preventative maintenance (PM) best practices
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 14000, ISO 18000, etc.)
- SHE experience, including legislative appointments and responsibilities
- Experience in civil works and services
- Knowledge of steam reticulation systems and steam generators
- Understanding of rigging and lifting equipment legal requirements
- Completed apprenticeship with a trade test qualification
- Ability to take on GMR 2.7 legal appointment
- Strong communication skills in English
- Proficient in Microsoft 365
- Basic knowledge of Windows OS, internet navigation, and search tools
