Job Summary
The Senior Production Manager is responsible for the effective leadership and management of the Wood factory. In this fast-paced, highly customized manufacturing environment, you will ensure all targets are met on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will be accountable for accurate planning, forecasting, and the overall performance of the woodworking division.
Key Responsibilities
- Factory Leadership: Provide full accountability for the Woodworking factory and lead a team of approximately 50 employees.
- Planning & Forecasting: Execute exceptional planning and documentation, ensuring accurate forecasting to meet demanding project timelines.
- Operational Management: Manage daily factory operations within standard hours (Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 17:00), with flexibility to work Saturdays during peak periods.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify potential challenges and implement solutions independently or in collaboration with relevant team members.
- Reporting: Report directly to the General Manager and provide strategic input to the Executive management.
- Quality & Standards: Maintain the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and quality control throughout the production process
Requirements
- Experience: A minimum of 8–10 years of experience at a Senior Production Manager or Production Manager level is essential.
- Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in a woodworking manufacturing environment, such as shopfitting, kitchen manufacturing, or furniture manufacturing.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and mobilize teams of 50+ people while maintaining high morale.
- Education: Matric is essential; a tertiary education is considered a distinct advantage.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, as this is the primary system used for management and planning in our non-automated environment.
