Job Summary
Interpret shop plans, technical drawings and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) to plan daily preparation, priming, spraying and finishing requirements.
Plan and coordinate spray-shop production, including sanding, preparation, priming, spraying and curing.
Lead and allocate work to spray painters and preparation teams to meet production and delivery deadlines.
Ensure correct paint mixing ratios, catalisation and application procedures are followed.
Set up and monitor spray guns, pressure pots and air-line regulators for consistent finishing quality.
Identify and troubleshoot defects such as orange peel, runs, fisheyes, blushing and slow curing.
Conduct final quality inspections and ensure finished products meet required standards before dispatch.
Monitor curing periods and ensure products are only released once fully cured and approved.
Calculate and monitor paint, solvent and sanding material requirements, while controlling waste.
Work closely with Joinery, Metal, Procurement and Production teams to maintain workflow and prevent delays.
Maintain accurate production updates and records on Navision/ERP systems where applicable.
Implement and maintain SOPs to improve finishing quality and production efficiency
