Job Summary
A well-established manufacturing company is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Maintenance Planner to join their Engineering team based in Alrode. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating planned preventative maintenance activities, maintaining engineering spare stock levels, supporting maintenance operations, and ensuring accurate reporting of engineering KPIs.
This role is ideal for a proactive individual with strong planning skills, maintenance administration experience, and exposure to a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and track planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
- Print and schedule maintenance job cards to ensure continuous maintenance planning
- Capture and close completed job cards on the system accurately
- Maintain engineering spare stock levels and issue stock when required
- Process quotations, purchase requisitions, and follow up on orders
- Support artisans and maintenance teams to ensure lean manufacturing principles are followed
- Ensure maintenance KPIs are updated and communicated electronically and on visual boards
- Conduct monthly safety audits and maintain audit reports
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards, policies, and procedures
- Report incidents and near misses in line with company procedures
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within all work areas
- Perform additional duties related to maintenance planning and administration as required
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science or equivalent
- Engineering qualification or Trade qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong planning, organisational, and prioritisation skills
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-motivated with good problem-solving ability
- Computer literacy essential (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Syspro)
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems and standards
- Exposure to manufacturing and maintenance environments essential
