- Relevant Certificate or Diploma in Warehouse Management, Supply Chain Operations.
- National Diploma in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or Operations Management. Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Production Engineering (Advantageous)
Requirements
- 5–8 years’ experience in packaging, assembly, or warehouse operations.
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Proven experience implementing packaging automation or process improvement initiatives.
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is advantageous.
Duties
- Plan, organize, and manage daily packing and assembly operations to meet order fulfilment targets.
- Allocate manpower and resources based on daily order volumes, deadlines, and priorities.
- Ensure all packing and assembly activities meet product quality and safety standards.
- Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for packing, labelling, and assembly processes.
- Ensure orders are packed and staged for dispatch in line with customer requirements and dispatch schedules.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe packing areas in accordance with 5S principles.
- Coordinate with the Receiving, Inventory and Dispatch teams to ensure seamless material flow.
- Perform audits to ensure inventory accuracy within the Packing and Assembly area.
- Perform audits on packing and assembly teams to ensure adherence to rules, processes and procedures.
- Audit bags and packages to validate that they contain the correct items, quality products, and are labelled correctly.
- Identify non-conformances and areas of risk or inefficiency.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Follow-up & Monitoring
- Review packing schedule, backlog, and resource allocation.
- Frequent walk through the packing and assembly area to verify workflow, safety, and order accuracy.
- Monitor scanning compliance and ensure all items are correctly recorded.
- Check for late or pending customer orders and implement corrective actions.
- Review equipment condition and ensure immediate maintenance/replacement where needed.
- Monitor and review consumable stock levels to ensure uninterrupted operations of the Packing and assembly team.
- Check if previously identified issues have been resolved effectively.
- Monitor whether changes are being followed and if they are effective.
- Escalate repeat or unresolved issues to management when necessary.
- Reporting
- Track KPIs: productivity rate, accuracy rate, pack rate, re-pack rate, assembly rate, error rate, and on-time delivery performance.
- Analyze performance data to support decision-making and improvement initiatives.
- Report major operational risks, capacity constraints, and improvement recommendations to management.
- Securely record and store clear, complete, records of all transactions in and out of the packing and assembly area.
- Submit regular reports (e.g., weekly or monthly) showing what was audited, what was found, and what was recommended.
- Support & Collaboration
- Collaborate with Receiving, Inventory, Dispatch, Production and QC teams to ensure seamless flow of goods.
- Attend daily operational meetings and make planning decisions based on available resources and order priorities
- Provide feedback and improvement proposals to the Supply Chain Manager on equipment, layout, and process gaps
- Support teams in understanding packing and assembly expectations and why changes are needed.
- Help ensure continuous improvement by maintaining open communication with all departments.
