Job Summary
Qualification- Matric / Senior Certificate
- Relevant qualification
- Valid drivers license
- Minimum 3 to 5 years' procurement experience, preferably in an engineering, manufacturing, mining or heavy-equipment environment.
- Able to read drawings and component diagrams would be advantageous
- Strong knowledge of purchasing processes and supplier management
- Experience with mechanical, hydraulic or engineering components will be an advantage
- Computer skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems
- Work under pressure and manage multiple orders and deadlines
- Compliance with company and ISO procedures
- Able to work independently
- Honest and ethical when dealing with suppliers
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments
- On-time delivery of required materials
- Accurate purchase orders and procurement records
- Source and purchase parts, components, raw materials, consumables and services
- Obtain and compare supplier quotations and negotiate pricing and terms
- Work closely with Stores, Workshop, QC, Service and Management
- Resolve any issues with suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance and escalate ongoing problems
- Ensure procurement is conducted in line with company procedures and ISO 9001 requirements
- Assist with cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or reliability
