Job Summary
Our client based in Port Elizabeth is seeking a highly accurate and detail-oriented Accounts Controller to join their team.
This role requires a strong accounting background, ideally within the logistics industry, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy is critical.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the debtor’s function, supporting creditors administration, and assisting with other financial processes including JV / Subsidiary companies. This role requires someone who is organised, proactive, and able to identify opportunities to improve internal processes.
Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Proven experience in Debtors and Creditors Administration.
- Logistics industry experience is recommended.
- Strong accounts and financial administration background.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyse financial information and ensure accuracy.
- Experience with Pastel Evolution / Sage Evolution 200 is required.
- Strong Excel skills would be advantageous.
- Exposure to multiple accounting systems.
- Ability to think strategically about improving financial processes.
Responsibilities:
Debtors Administration
- Process, manage and oversee the full debtor’s function.
- Ensure accurate processing and reconciliation of debtor accounts.
- Monitor outstanding accounts and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure zero tolerance for errors in financial data and reporting.
Accounts and Financial Administration
- Capture and process creditor invoices.
- Maintain the cashbook for the joint venture company.
- Review and check the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Process and manage journals where required.
- Assist in reviewing Profit and Loss reports generated by the system, ensuring all financial data is correct.
- Support financial administration for - the associated joint venture and subsidiary companies.
Process Improvement and Systems
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
- Ensure accurate financial data across accounting systems.
- Work with various accounting platforms and financial systems.
