Job Summary
An international freight forwarding company is seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven professional to join their dynamic Business Development and Sales team. This role calls for a motivated, articulate, and energetic individual with a passion for building relationships and driving growth.
Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales, marketing, or business development IN FREIGHT FORWARDING with exposure to both South African and international markets.(Candidates who do not have this will be excluded)
- Solid understanding of sales principles and market research techniques.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline is highly preferable
- Additional certifications in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development will be an advantage.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable using CRM systems.
Main Responsibilities:
- Research and analyse market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activity to uncover new business prospects.
- Source and develop new leads through networking, cold calling, and targeted industry research.
- Build, strengthen, and maintain productive relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing high-quality proposals, client presentations, and sales pitches.
- Update and maintain accurate sales pipeline reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with marketing, operations, and product development teams to ensure alignment on strategic objectives.
- Prepare reports detailing business development progress and outcomes.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote the brand and develop new contacts.

- Strong ability to collect, interpret, and analyze data related to market trends, customer behavior, and competitive positioning
- Familiarity with sales methodologies and the end-to-end sales process.
- Understanding of business development strategies for identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities.
- Awareness of industry trends and challenges that may influence business performance.
- Working knowledge of digital marketing tools and techniques, including social media, SEO, and email marketing.
- Basic grasp of financial principles, including pricing, budgeting, and profit margin management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to guide strategy and decision-making.
- Effective organizational and time-management skills for handling multiple priorities.
- Sound negotiation and relationship-building abilities to foster productive partnerships.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Creative and adaptable, with a willingness to learn in a fast-changing business environment.
