Position: Conveyancing Secretary
A well-established law firm in Pretoria is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Secretary with a strong background in Bond Cancellations. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 4 years’ relevant conveyancing experience and be confident in handling bond cancellation matters from instruction through to registration.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full bond cancellation process from instruction to registration.
Open and maintain conveyancing files and ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date.
Liaise with clients, banks, attorneys, bond cancellation departments and other stakeholders.
Obtain and acknowledge cancellation figures and guarantees.
Request and follow up on cancellation figures and outstanding documentation.
Work directly with the major South African banks, including:
ABSA
Nedbank
Standard Bank
FNB
Prepare and submit all required documentation for bond cancellations.
Arrange and coordinate the signing of cancellation documents.
Liaise with bond cancellation attorneys and financial institutions.
Attend to lodgement and registration requirements.
Monitor matters closely and follow up on outstanding documentation and instructions.
Provide clients with regular updates regarding the progress of their matters.
Ensure all files are compliant with firm procedures and conveyancing requirements.
General conveyancing administration and secretarial duties as required.
Requirements
Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Conveyancing Secretary.
Strong, proven experience specifically in Bond Cancellations.
Experience dealing with ABSA, Nedbank, Standard Bank and FNB is essential.
Sound knowledge of the bond cancellation process from instruction through to registration.
Experience with conveyancing software and online banking platforms.
Experience with MyAtt, WebConvey, E4, Lexis Convey, MyRoof or similar
