Our client, a well-established legal practice in Bloemfontein, is seeking a Junior Admitted Attorney with experience in litigation and collection management to join their professional team. Minimum requirements
Matric
Completed Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree
Admitted Attorney to the High Court
Minimum of 3 years' experience
Experience with collection management and litigation
Fluent in Afrikaans and English (speak, write and read)
Computer literacy within Microsoft Office and LegalSuite
Valid driver's license and own vehicle
Ability to work independently and under pressure

Duties and responsibilities
Debt Collection
Attend to and manage debt collection matters
Responsible for the various processes involved in debt collection
Prepare and draft the necessary legal documents and court processes
Attend to the progression of debt collection matters
Attend to matters through the applicable court processes
Communicate with clients and attend to client instructions
Liaise with opposing attorneys, sheriffs, courts and other relevant parties
Attend to settlements and settlement agreements
Attend to post-judgment processes where required
Ensure that matters are properly diarised and that deadlines are met
Maintain accurate and up-to-date files
Litigation
Assist the Litigation Department with general civil litigation matters
Draft pleadings, notices, affidavits, applications, correspondence and other legal documents
Assist with the preparation and progression of litigation matters
Attend to matters in the Magistrates' Court, Regional Court and High Court
Assist with the preparation of matters for court
Conduct legal research where required
Attend to client consultations and instructions
Liaise with opposing attorneys, advocates, sheriffs, courts and other relevant parties
Assist with settlements and settlement agreements
Ensure compliance with applicable court rules and procedural requirements
Maintain and manage litigation files

Negotiable, depending on experience
Work hours
Monday - Thursday: 07h30 - 13h00 and 14h00 - 16h30
Friday: 07h30 - 13h00 and 13h30 - 16h00
