Our client is seeking a highly experienced Litigation Typist to join their professional legal team in Bloemfontein. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in litigation typing and legal administration, with an in-depth understanding of court processes and procedures from start to finish. The successful candidate will be highly accurate, detail-oriented and well organised, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple matters and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.

Minimum requirements
Matric
Minimum of 10 + working experience as a Litigation Typist
In-depth understanding of court processes and procedures from start to finish
Fluent in English and Afrikaans (speak, write and read)
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and LegalSuite
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Valid driver's license and own vehicle OR reliable transport
Skills required
Extensive experience in litigation typing and legal administration
In-depth knowledge and understanding of court processes and procedures
Strong knowledge of litigation documentation and legal terminology
Ability to manage the litigation process from initiation through to finalisation
Excellent typing speed and accuracy
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple matters and meet strict deadlines
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced legal environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent document formatting and proofreading skills
Duties and responsibilities
Type, format and prepare legal documents, pleadings, notices, affidavits, applications, letters and general legal correspondence
Prepare and finalise litigation documents in accordance with the applicable court rules and prescribed formats
Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the procedures and processes applicable to the Magistrates' Court, Regional Court and High Court
Understand the procedural steps required in litigation matters and attend to such steps independently
Prepare and issue court process, including summonses, notices and other relevant documents
Attend to the filing and service of court documents and ensure that matters progress timeously
Manage and maintain litigation files, both physical and electronic
Diarise court dates, deadlines, notices and follow-ups and ensure that these are properly attended to
Prepare matters for court, including assisting with court files, bundles and necessary documentation
Liaise with the Sheriff, Courts, opposing attorneys, advocates, clients and other relevant parties
Follow up on outstanding pleadings, notices, returns of service, court orders and other documentation
Attend to debt collection, including the preparation and issuing of relevant process, following up on matters, obtaining judgment where applicable, and attending to execution and enforcement processes
Understand and attend to post-judgment processes, including warrants, writs, emoluments attachment orders and other enforcement procedures where applicable
Assist with the administration and progression of defended and undefended litigation matters
Ensure that matters are properly diarised and that procedural deadlines are not missed
Identify the next procedural step required in a matter and bring it to the attention of the attorney where necessary
Provide general litigation administration and support to attorneys

Work hours
Monday - Thursday: 07h30 - 13h00 and 14h00 - 16h30
Friday: 07h30 - 13h00 and 13h30 - 16h00
