Job Summary
We are currently seeking a diligent and motivated Paralegal Intern with a specialized focus on insolvency and business rescue matters. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of experienced attorneys to support our clients through various stages of insolvency proceedings, liquidation processes and sequestration cases.
Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in conducting legal research on insolvency laws, regulations, and precedents.
Draft and prepare legal documents, including petitions, applications, affidavits, and correspondence related to insolvency proceedings and business rescue matters.
Coordinate with clients, courts, and relevant stakeholders to facilitate the smooth progression of cases.
Maintain accurate and organized case files, documentation, and databases.
Provide administrative support to attorneys, such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
Attend court hearings, meetings, and client consultations as required.
Stay updated on changes in insolvency laws and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
Requirements
A paralegal diploma or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Prior internship or work experience in a legal setting, preferably with exposure to insolvency, liquidation, sequestration, or business rescue.
Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation related to insolvency law.
Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
