Job Summary
We are looking for a Waiter to provide excellent service to ensure great customer satisfaction. We are looking for someone who will have the patience, personality and perseverance to thrive in this role.
Main responsibilities:
Greet guests at assigned tables and ensure each guest has received a menu and wine list
Know all menu items, including the basic ingredients and methods of preparation
Ensure tables are properly set with linens, silverware and glasses
Take accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system and deliver within specified time limits
Ensure all orders are received timeously by the bar and kitchen staff
Clear all dirty cutlery and crockery from tables once guests have finished using them
Offer desserts and coffee to guests
Bill guests correctly
Ensure the restaurant area, fixtures and fittings are clean and hygienic
Ensure that your uniform is clean at all times
Main requirements:
Grade 12
Preferably 3 years’ previous waiter/waitress experience
Basic knowledge of wine and surrounding wine regions
Hands-on experience with cash registers and ordering information systems
Basic mathematical skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong customer service orientation and active listening skills
Attentive and patient with customers
Comfortable dealing with very distinguished clientele
Must be well-presented
Flexible and accountable
Enthusiastic personality
