Senior Accountant – Hospitality Group – Stellenbosch Our client, a dynamic hospitality group in Stellenbosch South Africa, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis. This hands-on role offers exposure to balance sheet management, financial analysis, compliance, and team leadership, making it ideal for an experienced accountant looking to advance within the hospitality sector. Description: The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth financial operations of the group, including: Debtors & Cash Management: Oversee invoicing, reconciliations, monthly statements, debtor ageing, cash flow forecasting, and related journal entries. (Debtors functions may transition in the future.) Assets & Balance Sheet Oversight: Maintain asset registers, process depreciation/amortisation journals, reconcile balance sheet line items, and manage intercompany invoicing and payments. Third-Party Billing: Prepare monthly third-party storage/service calculations, asset sales invoicing, and related journal entries. Supplier Payment Review: Review weekly payment packs for accuracy before release to the bank. Compliance & Reporting: Assist with VAT and SAWIS submissions, inventory reconciliations, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies. Financial Analysis & Audit Support: Prepare variance analyses, support budgeting and forecasting, liaise with auditors, and provide month-end/year-end supporting schedules. Process Improvement & Team Leadership: Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes, provide guidance to assistant accountants, and collaborate with operations, sales, and HR teams on finance-related matters.
