Candidates must have previous marketing experience within the agriculture, agribusiness, food production, meat, livestock, FMCG, agricultural products or a closely related sector.
Industry experience is highly important for this position, as the successful candidate will need to understand the agricultural and food value chain, its customers, market dynamics and the commercial environment in which the business operates.
Our client is seeking a hands-on and commercially minded Marketing Manager to take responsibility for the planning, development and execution of marketing activities.
This is a mid-level Marketing Manager position suited to a candidate who has established solid marketing experience and is ready to take ownership of the marketing function, without requiring extensive executive or corporate-level experience.
The successful candidate will work closely with management to strengthen the brand, increase market visibility, support business development and ensure that marketing activities contribute directly to commercial objectives.
Develop and implement practical annual marketing plans.
Translate business objectives into effective marketing campaigns and initiatives.
Manage marketing calendars, campaigns and project timelines.
Conduct market and competitor research.
Identify opportunities to improve brand awareness and market positioning.
Manage and develop the company's brand identity.
Ensure consistency across marketing materials and communication channels.
Coordinate the development of brochures, presentations, promotional material and other marketing collateral.
Assist in strengthening the company's positioning within its target markets.
Manage the company's social media platforms and content calendar.
Coordinate website content and updates.
Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns.
Monitor engagement, reach and campaign performance.
Identify opportunities to improve the company's digital presence.
Create and coordinate marketing content.
Manage written, visual and digital communications.
Coordinate photography, videography, graphic design and other creative requirements.
Develop newsletters, company updates and promotional communications.
Ensure marketing communications are professional, relevant and aligned with the brand.
Work closely with management and commercial teams to support business growth.
Develop campaigns aimed at increasing brand awareness, customer engagement and commercial opportunities.
Assist with customer and market research.
Support new product, service or market initiatives.
Track the effectiveness of marketing activities.
Coordinate exhibitions, industry events, conferences and company functions.
Manage marketing materials and brand presence at events.
Coordinate suppliers and event-related requirements.
Identify relevant agricultural and industry opportunities for increased market exposure.
Manage relationships with external marketing suppliers and agencies.
Obtain and compare quotations.
Brief creative and marketing suppliers.
Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Assist with the preparation and management of the marketing budget.
Monitor marketing expenditure.
Prepare regular marketing reports.
Track campaign performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
Relevant Bachelor's degree, diploma or qualification in Marketing, Communications, Business Management or a related field.
3–6 years' relevant marketing experience, preferably with some experience operating at Marketing Manager or Marketing Specialist level.
Previous experience within agriculture, agribusiness, food production, meat, livestock, FMCG or a related industry is strongly preferred.
Proven experience managing marketing campaigns from planning through to execution.
Strong digital and social media marketing knowledge.
Experience with content development and brand management.
Good understanding of marketing analytics and reporting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organisational and project-management abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and commonly used digital marketing platforms.
The following would be advantageous:
Agriculture or agribusiness marketing experience.
Meat or meat-processing industry experience.
Livestock or agricultural-products marketing.
FMCG or food-and-beverage marketing.
Experience marketing products to both B2B and B2C markets.
Experience working with agricultural suppliers, producers, retailers or distributors.
Experience managing industry events and exhibitions.
Experience working with external creative or digital agencies.
Basic graphic design or content-creation skills.

Salary: R40,000 – R50,000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
