Hospitality and Outdoor - New Vacancy - Bookkeeper and Operational Controller Luxury Lodge - Durbanville - Western Cape An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Bookkeeper & Operational Controller to join a fast-paced hospitality and food service environment in Durbanville. This hands-on position combines bookkeeping, financial administration, stock control, purchasing oversight, food-cost management, and operational compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting profitability through accurate financial records, effective inventory management, strong purchasing controls, and disciplined operational procedures. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who enjoys working across both administration and operations while identifying discrepancies, investigating variances, and ensuring systems are followed consistently. Job Description & Requirements: • Manage bookkeeping functions including creditors, debtors, reconciliations, payment allocations, financial record keeping, and month-end support using Xero. • Monitor stock levels, process orders, verify deliveries, conduct stock takes, investigate variances, and maintain inventory controls. • Oversee food-cost reporting, cost-of-sales journals, wastage monitoring, and profitability analysis. • Reconcile daily sales, cash, card transactions, delivery platform income, and investigate discrepancies. • Maintain supplier controls, purchasing records, pricing verification, and payment preparation. • Compile management reports covering stock, reconciliations, creditors, debtors, food cost, wastage, and operational controls. • Minimum 2-4 years of bookkeeping, accounting administration, stock control, or financial administration experience. • Experience using Xero or a similar accounting system and strong Microsoft Excel skills. • Practical experience with stock takes, receiving procedures, inventory control, creditors, debtors, and reconciliations. • Hospitality, restaurant, retail, food and beverage, or related operational experience highly advantageous. • Must be highly organised, trustworthy, analytical, proactive, and able to work independently. • Must reside within 15km of Durbanville and be able to work on-site.
