Job Summary
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Technical Services Manager to oversee maintenance, utilities and infrastructure across a collection of remote safari camps. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled maintenance professional who is comfortable working in remote, off-grid environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all camp infrastructure, power, water, communication and facility systems operate reliably and to a consistently high standard. We are looking for a practical and solutions-focused leader who can manage maintenance teams, oversee technical projects and respond confidently to both routine and emergency maintenance requirements. Key Responsibilities Manage preventative, routine and emergency maintenance across all camp infrastructure Oversee solar power systems, generators, HVAC units, boreholes, pumps and water treatment systems Ensure the reliable operation of all utilities and technical services Lead refurbishment, renovation and infrastructure improvement projects Manage contractors, suppliers and technical service providers Oversee maintenance tools, equipment, spare parts and inventory controls Maintain VHF radio communication systems Ensure roads, airstrips, fencing and back-of-house areas are properly maintained Train; guide and develop maintenance team members Maintain strong Health, Safety and Environmental standards Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in line with company procedures Work closely with Area Managers on maintenance planning, budgets and capital expenditure projects Prepare maintenance reports, project updates and operational documentation Requirements Relevant technical qualification or recognised trade certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, HVAC or a related field Proven maintenance management experience Experience within hospitality, tourism, remote lodge operations or a similar environment would be highly advantageous Strong knowledge of solar systems, generators, HVAC, water infrastructure and general building maintenance Experience managing technical projects, contractors and maintenance teams Strong planning, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Good computer literacy and report-writing skills A practical, hands-on and safety-conscious approach Ability to live and work in remote, off-grid locations Valid driver’s licence and PDP This role would suit a capable and experienced technical professional who enjoys remote environments and takes pride in keeping complex operations running smoothly, safely and efficiently.
