Kendrick Recruitment is searching for a proactive, detail-obsessed and travel-industry-savvy Systems and Product Manager for the B2B booking platform of a well-regarded luxury safari and travel company, with a strong presence across Southern and East Africa and a base in the Cape Winelands. Lodestar is a marketplace platform connecting independent safari and travel properties directly with agents who share their values - quoting, booking and invoicing CP Member properties, third-party properties, activities, transfers and flights in one integrated system. This role exists to keep that platform running accurately, efficiently and strategically. You will be the person who makes sure everything is loaded correctly, tested properly, communicated clearly and always improving. You are as comfortable in the detail of a rate sheet as you are contributing to roadmap strategy. You hit the ground running, you follow things up and you don’t let things fall through the cracks. Please note: Candidates must be based in Cape Town. This is a hybrid role. During the first 3 months, the successful candidate will work alongside the Head of Department in a co-working office for onboarding and training, with travel to the Franschhoek office as needed. Remote working flexibility begins thereafter. Minimum Requirements: Hands-on experience building and managing a travel booking, itinerary or reservations platform - essential Experience in the travel industry with a solid understanding of how DMCs and tour operators work - essential Knowledge of the Southern and East African safari market - essential Strong understanding of travel pricing: nett and rack rates, STO agreements, commission tiers, mark-ups and margins Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when loading flights, activities, transfers, rates and promotions Experience managing product and content information, and working with suppliers or partners Confident communicator and trainer with experience onboarding agents or colleagues Highly organised with the ability to manage a long task list across many parallel projects Experience with CRM tools, payment tools and API live-availability integrations Proactive; self-starting and comfortable working independently Stable work history with contactable references Key Responsibilities: ⚙️ System Data Building Upload and maintain flights (scheduled and charter), activities and transfers with accurate descriptions, rates, capacities, times and images Verify all products pull through correctly on itineraries and quotes, with correct rates across all agent tiers Ensure all images and content are reviewed and signed off before going live ?️ System Management Assist with system checks, troubleshooting and resolving problems as they arise Log snags and follow them up with the development team Test; roll out and document new system features and updates Oversee tenancy settings including supplier notifications, banners and travel guides ? Product Management Manage the full onboarding of new third-party properties including rate sheets, contracts, insurance, content and images Keep the third-party partner pipeline moving and partners informed of updates Maintain supplier accounts including contacts and emergency details Manage; test and maintain specials, promos and tactical offers ?️ Roadmap & Strategy Support Assist in identifying and driving revenue opportunities through promos, tactical offers, new features and upsell initiatives Review how agent and supplier commission tiers interact and flag where adjustments are needed Create and maintain SOPs for all core platform processes ? Trade Relations Support Assist with onboarding and training of new and existing agents on the platform Communicate system updates, new features, rates and product changes to trade Feed agent feedback into the product roadmap ?
