Hospitality and Outdoor - Senior Africa Travel Specialist Johannesburg We are seeking an experienced Senior Africa Travel Specialist to design and sell exceptional travel experiences throughout Southern and East Africa . This role requires a strong blend of itinerary design expertise, sales ability, regional knowledge, and a passion for delivering world‑class guest service. The ideal candidate is commercially minded, highly organised, and skilled at converting enquiries into confirmed high‑value bookings while crafting personalised journeys that exceed guest expectations. Key Responsibilities Travel Coordination & Planning Design and sell tailor‑made itineraries, including flights, transfers, tours, and accommodation across Southern & East Africa. Proactively convert travel enquiries into confirmed bookings. Identify and maximise upsell and cross‑sell opportunities across properties and experiences. Maintain in‑depth knowledge of key destinations, lodges, hotels, and activity providers across the region. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships with preferred third‑party partners. Sales & Revenue Generation Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales targets. Monitor and report on sales performance, conversion rates, and revenue metrics. Identify new business opportunities and contribute to sales strategies and campaigns. Establish and maintain relationships with high‑value and repeat clients. Booking Management & Administration Ensure accurate reservation information is captured in systems such as Res Request, Tourplan, Safari Portal ; and CRM platforms. Confirm bookings timeously and maintain clear, professional communication throughout the guest journey. Manage all booking files from initial enquiry to guest departure. Financial Management Ensure timeous payment collection for all reservations. Complete monthly reconciliations and financial breakdowns. Guest Services Excellence Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally. Deliver high‑quality proposals and communication aligned with brand standards. Follow up post‑travel to ensure guest satisfaction and encourage repeat business. Professional Development Attend educational trips, destination training, and trade events. Contribute to overall departmental performance through excellent service delivery. Skills & Experience Grade 12 (Mandatory) Tourism/Hospitality Degree or Diploma (Advantageous) Minimum 8 years’ experience in a similar travel‑consulting or sales‑focused role (Essential) Tour‑operator experience (Highly advantageous) Hospitality or tourism industry background (Beneficial) Strong proficiency in MS Office ; Tourplan ; and Res Request Extensive knowledge of Southern & East Africa travel, products, and destinations
