Job Title: SOC Manager Location: Africa (Onsite & Remote) Experience: 3–5 Years Job Type: Full-Time Role Overview: We are seeking a SOC Manager to lead and govern Security Operations Center (SOC) functions, ensuring effective threat detection, incident response, and continuous security posture improvement. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership, governance, and technical expertise, supported by recognized managerial and SOC-specific certifications. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage SOC operations, including people, processes, and technologies. Define SOC strategy, operating model, KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics. Oversee incident response, escalation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure SOC alignment with organizational security policies, risk management, and compliance frameworks. Manage SOC tooling, SIEM/SOAR platforms, and detection capabilities. Drive continuous improvement through threat intelligence, automation, and process optimization. Lead SOC audits, reporting, and governance activities. Manage SOC staffing, training, and capability development. Required Qualifications & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. 3–5 years of experience in SOC leadership, security operations management, or senior security roles. Managerial / Governance Certifications (one or more): CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor SOC / Operations-Specific Certifications (one or more): GIAC GSOM (Security Operations Manager) GIAC GSOC (Security Operations Certified) MITRE ATT&CK Defender (MAD) – Leadership modules Cloud / Modern SOC Certifications (Optional / Environment-Dependent): Microsoft Azure Security Engineer (SC-200 / SC-100) AWS Certified Security – SpecialtyRequirements
