The successful candidate will support the Executive Chef in maintaining the highest culinary standards, ensuring consistency, creativity, and excellence across all food offerings while leading and inspiring a dedicated kitchen team. Key Requirements • Formal culinary qualification essential • Minimum 2+ years' Sous Chef experience in a 5-star luxury environment • Strong leadership and team management abilities • Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure • Strong understanding of hospitality operations (kitchen, service, housekeeping coordination) • Computer literate Key Responsibilities • Maintain high standards of professionalism within the kitchen team, providing disciplined, inspirational leadership • Ensure all financial controls, stock systems, and record-keeping are strictly followed • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning and food quality standards, monitoring food costs and budgets • Attend daily HOD meetings and coordinate operational planning (arrivals, departures, maintenance, guest requests, special events) • Ensure full compliance with health & safety, HACCP, and hygiene standards • Oversee month-end stock takes and inventory control • Facilitate strong communication between kitchen, lodge management, guest relations, and butler teams Candidate Profile • Passion for food and creating memorable dining experiences • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Positive, energetic, and team-focused attitude • Highly organised, disciplined, and self-motivated Package • Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience • Live-In position, benefits and travel included • Location: Zanzibar Please note that only candidates who meet the minimum requirements will be contacted.
