An exclusive 5-star game lodge in the heart of the Eastern Cape is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Duty Manager to join their dynamic hospitality team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a luxury lodge environment ; enjoys guest interaction, and takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of service and operational excellence. About the Role: The Senior Duty Manager will be responsible for overseeing all key departments, including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Guest Relations ; ensuring seamless coordination between teams and a consistently exceptional guest experience. You’ll act as the go-to person for daily operations ; assist in staff training and development, and support management in maintaining the lodge’s reputation for world-class service. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily lodge operations, ensuring all departments deliver consistent 5-star service Manage guest experience, including arrivals, departures, special requests, and issue resolution Act as the main point of contact for guests, ensuring satisfaction and service excellence Supervise; train, and motivate staff while maintaining high performance and grooming standards Coordinate staff schedules, briefings, and interdepartmental communication Handle administrative tasks such as reporting, stock control, and basic financial duties Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations Maintain smooth coordination between departments for seamless operations Uphold the lodge’s luxury brand, reputation, and service standards at all times Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management ; Hotel Management ; or Tourism (essential). Additional training in Customer Service ; Front Office Management ; or Leadership is advantageous. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a luxury lodge or 5-star hospitality environment ; with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role . Proven track record in guest relations ; operations coordination ; and team leadership . Previous experience in a game reserve or remote lodge setting preferred. Familiarity with PMS (Property Management Systems) ; POS systems ; and Microsoft Office Suite .
