Our client is a well-regarded luxury safari operator with a fully integrated operational model spanning lodge management, inbound DMC services, logistics, fleet, and procurement. With a growing portfolio across Tanzania’s most sought-after wilderness areas, they deliver exceptional safari experiences to a discerning international clientele. Deeply committed to responsible tourism, community engagement, and conservation, they represent one of East Africa’s most respected names in sustainable luxury travel. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will be accountable for the day-to-day operational leadership of the Tanzania business, implementing the strategy set by the Executive Committee and ensuring all business units function as one high-performing, integrated operation. The role spans camps, lodges, the DMC, fleet, logistics, procurement, and support services, and carries responsibility for operational excellence, guest experience standards, budget delivery, compliance, and team development. The successful candidate will manage annual operating plans and capital expenditure, build and maintain productive relationships with government authorities, local communities, and conservation bodies, and embed responsible tourism principles across all Tanzania operations. This is a practical, multi-site role for a commercially aware operator with a strong track record of hands-on operational delivery. ? Please Note – This position is Arusha based ???????????? • A relevant degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field; an MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage. • A minimum of 10 years’ senior leadership experience in the hospitality or tourism sector, with at least 8 years overseeing multi-site operations. • Extensive experience within the East African luxury safari or lodge sector is essential. • Demonstrated experience managing an inbound DMC or integrated tourism business is highly desirable. • Strong commercial, financial, and operational management skills with a proven track record of driving performance across multiple business units. • Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed teams and deliver organisational change and operational excellence. • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills, including government bodies, local communities, and conservation authorities. • The ability to represent a premium brand with authority, cultural sensitivity, and commercial acumen. • Contactable references essential. • Tanzanian or East African nationals are strongly preferred; this is a resident, in-country operational role and local candidates will be prioritised. ?????? – On application ? ?????? ???? – Although we appreciate all applications received, we will only reply to those candidates who have the background and experience suitable for this position.
