Job Summary
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Senior MICE Consultant to join a leading luxury destination management company specialising in travel throughout Southern Africa. This is a remote position suited to a highly organised and commercially minded travel professional with extensive experience managing Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events. The successful candidate will oversee complex group bookings from the initial enquiry and quotation stage through to confirmation, operational handover and execution. Key responsibilities include: Manage MICE and large group enquiries from receipt through to confirmation Prepare detailed itineraries, quotations and costings Coordinate accommodation, transport, activities, venues, conferencing, catering and special events Liaise with suppliers, secure availability and negotiate competitive rates Prepare rooming lists, movement schedules and final travel documentation Ensure all booking information is accurately captured within the reservations system Act as the primary reservations contact for clients and agents Coordinate invoicing, supplier confirmations and payment requirements with the Finance team Prepare comprehensive operational files and hand confirmed bookings over to Operations Assist with the execution of programmes and provide support while groups are travelling Mentor and support junior consultants where required Requirements: Minimum of eight years’ experience within luxury travel reservations At least five years’ experience managing MICE, incentive or large group bookings Previous experience working for a Southern African Destination Management Company is essential Strong destination knowledge of South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Namibia Proven experience managing complex, multi-country itineraries Strong costing, quotation and reporting experience Excellent written and spoken English Experience with Travel Studio and Wetu is preferred Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel Strong commercial awareness, negotiation ability and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage multiple enquiries and deadlines The position is remote, and candidates must have reliable internet and a dependable backup electricity supply. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00, although occasional after-hours and weekend support will be required when major groups are travelling. Candidates must also be willing to travel with MICE groups when necessary.
