Senior Group Reservations Coordinator As our Senior Group Reservations Coordinator ; you will ensure that reservations are maximised through booking, daily follow-up, and confirmation, thereby ensuring maximum room revenue for the Hotel. Your responsibilities will include efficient Group Booking Management, where you'll handle all group reservations within allocated timeframes from enquiry to confirmation, ensuring accuracy and timely collection of payments and rooming lists. Revenue Optimisation, monitoring availability and assisting in achieving monthly prescribed revenue targets set by hotel management, in accordance with the Hotel's annual budget, will form part of your role. Along with this, you will oversee Client and Agent Relationship Management, where you'll build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, travel agents, and corporate accounts. Maintaining up-to-date records in the PMS and reporting systems; providing regular reporting with relevant statistics and insights; and liaising with and attending meetings with Sales, Front Office, and Operations to ensure smooth group arrivals and departures will form part of your duties. You will train and mentor junior reservationists on systems, procedures, and best practices; provide technical guidance and support to team members; share knowledge and contribute to team development initiatives; effectively manage any escalated queries that arise in relation to group reservations; and monitor and ensure the fair and effective distribution of group enquiries across the group reservations team. Finally; your role will include identifying opportunities to streamline the reservations process, recommending system improvements, and participating in training development. Along with 3–5 years' experience in a 4/5* hotel reservations environment ; and at least 2 years' handling group bookings, tour series, or event blocks in a senior capacity ; you have a Matric Certificate with a Hotel Management diploma or degree ; as well as an understanding of revenue management. Your basic accounting and computer skills (MS Office, distribution systems, Opera V5.6, and Opera Cloud), along with a clean criminal record, will see you far in this role. You will bring exceptional communication, negotiation, and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail in everything you do. Your focus on guest service will stand out as you remain composed and professional under pressure, using your problem-solving and decision-making abilities to tackle challenges effectively. With strong leadership and mentoring skills, you will inspire those around you, drawing on your commercial awareness and thorough understanding of policy and compliance. Your technical troubleshooting expertise, ethical approach, and proactive mindset will support ongoing improvements in systems and processes, making you an indispensable member of our team.
