This role has a primary focus on developing and growing African Airfreight Business Customers (AFR BC) . You will be responsible for identifying, prospecting, and closing new airfreight opportunities within this segment, aligning with regional and local AFR trade lane strategies. While the role encompasses all modes of freight, the core mandate is to actively position the company's airfreight solutions within the BC segment.
The Ideal Candidate:
ESSENTIAL: 3-5 years within the transport, logistics, or freight forwarding industry, with a specific focus on sales and business development
ESSENTIAL: A deep understanding of the freight-forwarding environment, including airfreight, ocean freight, road freight, and customs clearing
ESSENTIAL: A proven track record in new business acquisition in a sales role, with experience in the AFR BC segment being highly advantageous
ESSENTIAL: A good working knowledge of imports, exports, and international trade
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
Advanced multilingual skills preferred (i.e., English)
A relevant business degree is preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Drive new business development with a specific focus on African Airfreight Business Customers
Identify, prospect, and close new AFR airfreight opportunities
Align with regional and local AFR trade lane strategies to position airfreight solutions effectively
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in medium to large businesses
Manage the entire sales cycle, including RFI/RFQ/RFP management, negotiation, and closing of contracts
Achieve 3X CTC within 3 months of starting in the position
Provide market intelligence and insights to the sales management team
