Maintenance Supervisor - Luxury Safari Lodge - Kenya ? New Role Kendrick Recruitment is searching for a technically skilled, organised and proactive Maintenance Supervisor for a well-regarded luxury safari lodge located in a vast, privately conserved wilderness region of Kenya. This is a permanent, live-in leadership role for a hands-on maintenance professional who takes genuine ownership of the technical and operational upkeep of a luxury lodge environment - ensuring all systems, facilities, vehicles and equipment are maintained to the highest standard with minimal disruption to guests or operations. Please note: This is an international live-in position based in Kenya. Candidates must hold Kenyan citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid Kenyan work permit. Candidates without existing work authorisation for Kenya must demonstrate eligibility to apply for a Kenyan work permit before their application can be progressed. Minimum Requirements: Strong technical knowledge across maintenance systems including electrical, plumbing, solar, HVAC and water treatment - essential Proven experience supervising or leading a maintenance team in a lodge, hotel or similar environment Experience monitoring and managing generators, solar systems, fuel and gas systems Familiarity with coordinating and managing external service contractors and subcontractors Excellent organisational, record-keeping and reporting skills Proactive problem-solving ability with strong attention to detail Commitment to sustainability practices within maintenance operations Effective communicator with sound leadership ability Valid driver's licence - essential Comfortable living and working permanently in a remote, live-in bush environment Stable work history with contactable references Key Responsibilities: ? Team Coordination Assign and monitor daily tasks for mechanics and maintenance staff Conduct daily team briefings to discuss priorities, issues and plans Be available on radio to assist and direct maintenance tasks throughout the day ? Inspections Conduct regular inspections of all lodge facilities to identify maintenance needs Check and monitor key systems including water treatment, generators, solar systems, HVAC and electrical panels ? Repairs & Maintenance Assist with and oversee urgent repairs across plumbing, electrical and general building maintenance Ensure all equipment and vehicles are maintained in full working order at all times ?️ Contractor Management Coordinate; facilitate and monitor all external subcontractors to ensure timely, high-quality work aligned to lodge standards Schedule access, verify completed work and maintain communication between subcontractors and lodge management ? Logistics Monitor fuel levels for generators and vehicles and arrange replenishment timeously Monitor gas levels in bulk tanks and portable bottles Ensure tools and consumables including light bulbs, plumbing parts and maintenance materials are adequately stocked at all times ?
