Safari JOBS is seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Manager for a high-end private safari property in the Greater Kruger. This opportunity suits a practical, dependable, and solutions-driven all-rounder with strong technical ability, proven people management skills, and a genuine willingness to live and work in a bush environment. This is a hands-on role, not a purely supervisory one. The successful candidate will be expected to assist actively with maintenance while leading a small support team and overseeing a broad range of lodge systems and infrastructure, including water, plumbing, sewerage, pools, electricity, solar, geysers, gardens, buildings, generators, electric fencing, WiFi, air-conditioning, vehicles, and general property upkeep. This dual-property placement offers a dynamic and agile working environment where no two weeks are the same. The successful candidate will work across two intimate properties under the same ownership, supporting two distinct luxury offerings within one exceptional location. The ideal candidate will have solid maintenance experience, preferably gained within a safari lodge, bush, or similarly remote environment, and must be able to identify vehicle-related issues, carry out basic repairs, and coordinate servicing. Strong practical ability, sound all-round technical knowledge, and the right attitude toward bush living are essential, while relevant qualifications would be a strong advantage. Clear criminal record; Excellent employment track record – references will be verified; Excellent English communication, fluency & literacy; Valid driver’s licence, and preferably own private vehicle; Approximately 3 - 5 years’ relevant experience within the same / similar role & environment; Relevant qualifications would be a very strong advantage; Proven experience in managing or supervising maintenance or grounds team of at least four staff; Strong hands-on experience in general maintenance, gardens, infrastructure, and overall property upkeep; Sound working knowledge of water systems, including plumbing, sewerage, pools, and geysers; Good knowledge of electricity, solar systems, generators, and electric fencing; Experience with building and premises maintenance; Understanding of air-conditioning systems, WiFi etc; Ability to identify vehicle issues, attend to basic vehicle repairs, and manage servicing and ongoing vehicle maintenance; Must be practical, proactive, and happy working in a remote bush environment ??? ???????????????? Leading; managing, and directing the maintenance and grounds team on a daily basis; Prioritising tasks and ensuring the team is focused on the most urgent and important maintenance requirements first; Remaining hands-on in the role and actively assisting with maintenance work across the property; Overseeing all general maintenance across the property; Ensuring that gardens, buildings, infrastructure, and the overall premises are well maintained; Monitoring and maintaining water systems, including plumbing, sewerage, pools, and geysers; Overseeing electrical maintenance, including electric fencing, generators, and solar systems; Managing building, premises, and general repair work; Assisting with or overseeing the maintenance of WiFi and air-conditioning systems where required; Identifying vehicle issues, attending to basic repairs where possible, and ensuring vehicles are sent in for servicing and kept well maintained; Reducing unnecessary call-outs to outside contractors by attending to as many maintenance issues in-house as possible; Ensuring the property remains safe, functional, and well maintained at all times Potentially - shared hosting duties to ensure a senior presence amongst guests during service periods. ???????????? / ??????? / ???? ????? ??? ????? ????????? ???? ?? ????????? ????-??????????? – ???. ???, ?????????????? ???. Staff may also enjoy surplus cuisine from guest services when available, not guaranteed. A complimentary weekly town trip is scheduled for all personal shopping and administrative needs, with additional travel reserved for emergency requirements.
