Maintenance & Fishing Operations Manager – Luxury Lodge – Bahamas Salary: USD 3,450 per month | Live-in Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a highly competent Maintenance & Fishing Operations Manager for a luxury lodge in the Bahamas. This senior, hands-on role combines infrastructure maintenance with leadership of the lodge’s fly-fishing programme. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, demonstrable fly-fishing and marine experience, and the ability to manage people, assets, and logistics in a remote environment. Contract & Package • 12-month fixed-term contract (1 October – 30 September) • Gross salary: USD 3,450 per month • Performance bonus: USD 5,000 (end-of-season) • Seven weeks’ paid leave • Six days on, one day off (where operations allow) • On-site accommodation and meals provided • Return economy flight included • Use of company vehicle (subject to availability) Purpose of the Role • Ensure reliable operation of all lodge systems • Deliver a professional, well-organised fly-fishing operation through strong leadership, planning, and technical competence Key Responsibilities Maintenance Operations • Oversee lodge infrastructure, systems, and equipment • Conduct preventive maintenance planning and execution • Maintain vehicles, skiffs, trailers, generators, and water systems • Minimise operational downtime through proactive management • Manage procurement and maintenance-related expenditure within budget Fishing Operations • Lead and manage the guide team • Plan guide rotations, leave schedules, and daily operational activities • Ensure daily fishing readiness and smooth execution of fishing programmes • Host guests during cocktail and canapé hours as required Team Leadership & Coordination • Allocate tasks and manage staff to ensure operational coverage • Train and support guide and maintenance teams • Collaborate with Lodge Manager and other department heads to align priorities Budget & Financial Responsibilities • Manage issued fixed monthly budgets for lodge, vehicle, boat/trailer, and operational equipment maintenance • Submit payment requests and CAPEX proposals within scheduled review periods • Contribute to annual CAPEX planning across technical and fishing assets Measures of Success • Minimal operational downtime and well-maintained infrastructure • Smooth, professional fishing operations • Disciplined, well-planned guide rotations and effective team management • Maintenance costs controlled and operational performance optimised This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced professional with both technical maintenance and fly-fishing expertise, seeking a remote luxury lodge environment.
