The Role As Lodge Manager, you will oversee the full day-to-day operation of the lodge, ensuring that every aspect of the guest experience reflects the highest standards of luxury hospitality. You will work closely with department heads and ownership to maintain operational efficiency, staff morale, and an unforgettable safari experience. Key Responsibilities • Oversee the daily operation of the lodge across all departments • Lead, motivate, and support a hospitality team in delivering exceptional service • Ensure outstanding guest interaction, hosting, and personalised experiences • Manage guest feedback professionally and proactively • Monitor lodge standards, maintenance, housekeeping, and presentation throughout • Assist with stock control, budgets, procurement, and reporting • Work closely with the guiding, kitchen, housekeeping, and maintenance teams • Ensure staff training, development, and performance management • Uphold health, safety, and operational procedures at all times • Assist in creating a warm, positive, and professional lodge culture The Ideal Candidate • Previous Lodge Management experience within a luxury safari lodge or 5-star hospitality environment is essential • Strong leadership and people management ability • Hands-on, adaptable, and solutions-driven approach • Excellent guest relations and hosting skills • Financial and administrative understanding advantageous • Passion for hospitality, conservation, and the safari industry • Professional, calm under pressure, and highly organised • Ability to live and work in a remote environment Package • Competitive salary dependent on experience • Live-in position • Meals and uniform provided • Opportunity to work within one of South Africa’s leading luxury safari environments
