Job Title General Manager Couple (Open to single GM’s) Establishment Type Luxury Safari Lodge Location Limpopo Province, South Africa Salary Package R50;000 – R60,000 (Negotiable DOE), Combined Live-in position Role Overview A luxury safari lodge is seeking either a highly experienced General Manager / Lodge Manager or a management couple to oversee full lodge operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences in a remote, high-end safari environment. For couple applications, one partner will typically fulfil the General Manager / Lodge Manager function, while the second partner will take on a Lodge Manager / Duty Manager / Front of House Management role, depending on individual experience and operational needs. This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, operational oversight, and a hands-on management approach. Key Responsibilities General Lodge Operations Full responsibility for daily lodge operations and service delivery Ensure high standards across accommodation, food, service, and guest experience Oversee maintenance, logistics, and operational systems Financial & Business Management Manage lodge budgets, forecasting, and cost control in conjunction with head office Monitor stock, procurement, and asset management Drive operational efficiencies and quality control Human Resources & Team Leadership Lead; coach, and develop all department heads and staff Manage staffing levels, rosters, leave planning, and payroll loading Foster a positive, professional, and accountable team culture Ensure compliance with labour legislation and internal HR procedures Guest Experience & Hosting Actively host guests, including VIPs, agents, and media where required Oversee guest activities, special requests, and overall experience delivery Drive continuous improvement in product and service offering Training; Standards & Development Implement and manage training and skills development plans Ensure service standards, SOPs, and safety procedures are consistently applied Monitor health and safety compliance Sustainability & Community Engagement Implement sustainability practices in line with company policies Support community engagement initiatives where applicable Minimum Requirements (Essential) For Single Applicants: Minimum 5 years’ senior luxury lodge management experience Strong financial, operational, and HR management background Proven leadership and people development skills Experience in luxury hospitality environments Excellent communication and guest-facing ability For Management Couples: One or both partners with strong General Manager / Lodge Manager experience Second partner with experience in FOH; Duty Management, or Lodge Operations Both partners must demonstrate strong hospitality, leadership, and teamwork skills For All Applicants: High level of professionalism and attention to detail Ability to work under pressure in remote environments Valid driver’s licence Relevant hospitality or tourism qualification advantageous Advantageous Experience in multi-department lodge operations Strong product development and guest experience focus Maintenance or technical knowledge beneficial ?
