Job Summary
??? ??????????? ??????????? is partnering with an established luxury lodge and safari operation in Malawi, to appoint an experienced ??????? ???????. This position calls for a seasoned hospitality leader who can take full ownership of a multi-faceted lodge and safari business, guiding its people, its performance and its long-term direction while protecting an exceptional experience for every guest who visits. Reporting to the Directors, the successful candidate will run daily operations, build and mentor a capable management team, and take charge of the commercial side of the business, from budgeting and cost control through to revenue growth and financial reporting. Beyond the daily running of the property, this individual will play a hands-on role in shaping future growth, spotting new commercial opportunities and helping guide the wider expansion of the business. The role also carries responsibility for keeping the lodge, vessels and equipment maintained to a high standard, upholding safety and compliance obligations, and working closely with the sales and marketing teams to lift occupancy and strengthen the brand across the region. A genuine passion for responsible tourism is important, along with a willingness to build strong relationships with conservation partners, local authorities and neighbouring communities, and to embrace a remote, hands-on lifestyle away from city comforts. Requirements • Degree or diploma in hospitality management, tourism management, business management or a related field, or equivalent practical experience • Minimum of six years’ experience within luxury safari lodges or the broader tourism industry, including at least five years in a General Manager or senior leadership role • Demonstrated success managing multi department hospitality operations, including accommodation, food and beverage, guest services, maintenance and administration • Strong financial management skills covering budgeting, forecasting, cost control, revenue growth and reporting • Confident leadership and people management ability, with a track record of building and mentoring high performing teams • Excellent organisational, planning and guest relationship skills, backed by fluent written and spoken English • Strong computer literacy, particularly Excel, along with familiarity with property management and accounting systems such as ResRequest, TallOrder, Sage or Pastel • Valid driver's licence, willingness to travel, and a health and safety qualification or willingness to obtain one • Willingness to relocate to Malawi and settle into a remote lodge lifestyle, including a rotational roster of 21 working days followed by 7 days off, currently not suited to young children or pets Salary: On Application (DOE) Start: ASAP ➡️ PLEASE NOTE: Although we appreciate every application received, we will only be able to respond to candidates whose background and experience closely match the requirements of this role.
