Role Overview: Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Weddings & Events Coordinator for a prestigious luxury boutique hotel and spa located in the stunning KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. This exciting leadership opportunity is ideal for a highly organised and guest-focused events professional with a proven track record in luxury weddings and event management. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated Weddings & Events team, overseeing the planning and execution of approximately 75 weddings and numerous special events annually while ensuring every occasion exceeds client expectations. ? Requirements: • Minimum 5–8 years' experience in luxury wedding and event coordination • Previous experience within a hotel, wedding venue, or destination hospitality environment • Extensive experience coordinating high-end weddings and special events • Previous team leadership and management experience • Strong operational and logistical planning abilities • Exceptional client relationship management skills • Ability to manage multiple weddings and events simultaneously • Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills • Conference and corporate event experience advantageous • Experience within luxury hotels, lodges, destination wedding venues, or premium hospitality environments highly advantageous ? Key Responsibilities: • Lead, mentor, and develop the Weddings & Events Coordination team • Manage event schedules, planning timelines, and departmental workflow • Oversee the complete post-sale client journey from consultation to event completion • Conduct wedding planning meetings and client consultations • Coordinate all wedding and event logistics to ensure flawless execution • Manage venue setup standards, inspections, and event preparation • Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and service providers • Coordinate closely with accommodation, culinary, food & beverage, and operational teams • Act as the senior point of contact for client concerns and event-related challenges • Identify upselling opportunities and support revenue growth initiatives • Monitor guest feedback and implement continuous improvement strategies • Prepare event reports and departmental performance tracking ?
