External Technical Sales Representative (Steel / Cold Forming)

My client, a well-established company in the steel and cold forming industry, is looking for a driven and technically minded External Technical Sales Representative to join their team.
This role is ideal for a true hunter salesperson who enjoys being on the road, building relationships, and identifying new business opportunities within the construction, steel, mining, industrial and commercial sectors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for growing existing accounts, sourcing new business, and promoting cold formed steel products and related solutions.
Minimum Requirements
- Fluent in both Afrikaans and English (essential)
- Proven external sales experience
- Experience within steel, construction materials, roofing, structural steel, cold forming, engineering or related industries will be highly advantageous
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and drive sales growth
- Valid driver’s licence
- Good technical understanding and ability to read basic drawings/specifications will be beneficial
- Strong negotiation and closing ability
Duties Include
- Calling on existing and potential clients
- Developing new business opportunities
- Building strong relationships with contractors, fabricators, engineers and project managers
- Preparing quotations and following up on sales opportunities
- Providing technical product advice and support
- Achieving monthly sales targets
- Reporting on sales activities and market feedback
