Job Summary
Purpose of the role
The Solar O&M Manager is responsible for ensuring the reliable performance, uptime, and efficiency of all installed solar PV, Generator and cube systems under the company’s management. The role includes monitoring system performance through digital platforms, planning and coordinating maintenance activities, and responding to faults or alarms in a timely manner. The O&M Manager will also oversee reporting, data analysis, and continuous improvement of system operations.
Key Responsibilities
System Monitoring & Performance Management
- Monitor system performance daily through monitoring platforms (e.g., Sungrow, Victron, Atess, Solis, Sunsynk, DSE webnet.).
- Identify underperformance, faults, or alarms and initiate corrective actions.
- Analyse system data to detect trends, inefficiencies, and potential risks.
- Maintain accurate logs of system performance and interventions.
Operations & Maintenance Coordination
- Plan, schedule, and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical issues to maximize system uptime.
- Coordinate with field technicians, subcontractors, and suppliers for spare parts and repairs and manage RMA process and tracking thereof.
- Implement best practices for system safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Reporting & Documentation
- Generate regular performance reports for management and clients under SLA
- Document all incidents, faults, and corrective actions via energy faults
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as uptime, yield, and response times.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer warranties, O&M contracts, and industry standards.
- Enforce health and safety protocols during maintenance and repair work.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and technical standards.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the point of contact for clients regarding O&M issues.
- Provide technical insights and recommendations for system optimization.
- Support the sales team with technical input on O&M offerings.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Renewable Energy, or equivalent (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in solar PV operations, maintenance, or technical management.
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, generators and monitoring software.
- Proficiency in analysing data and interpreting performance metrics.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to sites.
