Training Manager: Bricklaying (International / Africa Focus)

I am working with a well-established international player in the building materials sector who is looking to appoint a highly experienced Training Manager: Bricklaying to take ownership of their global tile installation training strategy, with a strong focus on Africa and other emerging markets.
This is not just a training role — it’s a business-critical position where you will play a key role in uplifting technical standards, empowering local mason communities, and supporting international expansion through structured, high-impact training initiatives.
You will act as the vital link between head office, local distributors, and on-site masons, ensuring consistent quality, strong brand alignment, and successful project rollouts across multiple regions.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Design and roll out a structured, market-relevant tile installation training programme
Develop training materials including manuals, assessments, and practical guides
Deliver hands-on training across various international markets
Continuously evaluate and improve training effectiveness based on feedback and performance
Performance & Reporting
Set and track training KPIs (coverage, pass rates, skill improvement)
Compile regular reports for head office with insights and recommendations
New Market Expansion (Africa Focus)
Support the launch of mason training projects in new markets
Assist in building local teams and implementing standard operating procedures
Drive adoption and ensure successful project execution on the ground
Project & Compliance Management
Ensure all training and project activities meet internal standards and compliance requirements
Work closely with audit and finance teams where required
Manage budgets and ensure optimal use of training resources
Stakeholder Engagement
Train and support local teams, distributors, and marketing functions
Build strong relationships with masons to understand real on-site challenges
Collaborate with internal teams to align training with product and brand standards
What We’re Looking For
Relevant degree
5–8 years’ experience in training, technical support within the building materials / tile industry
Proven experience working directly with mason training or installation teams
Exposure to international or emerging markets (Africa highly advantageous)
Willingness to travel extensively across multiple countries
Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge of tile installation techniques, materials, and quality standards
Ability to design and deliver technical training programmes from scratch
Confident in troubleshooting on-site installation challenges
Solid understanding of market dynamics and artisan (mason) needs
Key Competencies
Fluent in English (French is a strong advantage)
Excellent project management and execution ability
Strong cross-cultural communication skills
Hands-on, practical, and solutions-driven approach
High level of accountability and attention to detail
