Hospitality and Outdoor - General Manager Tanzania A seasoned and visionary General Manager is required to oversee the full operational, financial, and experiential management of two luxury wilderness camps in Tanzania. This role demands an exceptional leader with extensive high-end hospitality experience, a commitment to community and environmental sustainability, and the ability to deliver extraordinary guest experiences in a remote setting. The successful candidate will excel at relationship building, team development, operational excellence, and elevating service standards across all guest touchpoints. Requirements Hotel Management Certificate or equivalent qualification. Valid driver’s license. Strong financial and administrative competencies. Energetic; proactive, and service‑driven leadership style Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong problem‑solving abilities and resilience under pressure. High attention to detail, initiative, and organizational discipline. Compassionate; ethical, and effective leadership. Strong training, mentoring, and team‑development abilities. Computer literacy and solid financial management skills. Minimum 10 years of management experience in a 5‑star hospitality environment. Experience managing a luxury property with 20+ beds . At least 5 years of management experience in East Africa . Strong background in guest relations and staff management. ResponsibilitiesLeadership & People Development Provide disciplined, inspirational leadership to all camp teams. Mentor and guide Heads of Department and junior managers. Oversee all Human Capital activities, including labour relations, leave, medical fund administration, and skills development. Promote a culture of professionalism, respect, continuous improvement, and excellence. Guest Experience & Service Excellence Oversee the full guest experience to ensure consistent 5‑star service delivery. Create and implement strategies for guest delight, staff welfare, safety, and training. Host VIP guests, media representatives, and industry partners. Coordinate with the Executive Chef to uphold menu quality, food standards, and budget adherence. Operational Management Full responsibility for the daily management of both camps and all back‑of‑house departments. Lead daily meetings to plan and coordinate operations, maintenance, logistics, arrivals, departures, and special events. Ensure operational equipment, vehicles, generators, and buildings are functioning efficiently and maintained to high standards. Business & Financial Management Lead the development and management of annual budgets. Oversee CAPEX planning and expenditure. Drive operational efficiencies, cost control, and quality procurement. Oversee all maintenance, repair, and infrastructure development projects. Community; Conservation & Stakeholder Engagement Build strong relationships with staff, guests, neighbouring lodges, community organizations, government departments, and industry partners.
