Live-In Roaming Position | 3 Months On / 1 Month Off Short Description: Kendrick Recruitment is searching for an exceptional Guide Trainer to join one of East Africa's most celebrated collections of boutique luxury safari lodges and camps across Kenya and Tanzania. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced and passionate safari professional to mentor, develop, and elevate guiding teams across multiple luxury properties. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining world-class guiding standards while supporting conservation, community engagement, and unforgettable guest experiences throughout the collection. Working across some of Africa's most iconic wildlife destinations, this role is ideally suited to a seasoned guide with a strong background in training, coaching, and skills development within luxury safari operations. Requirements: ✔ FGASA Professional Field Guide qualification (essential) ✔ Full Lead Trails Guide qualification (essential) ✔ Valid ARH Certificate (essential) ✔ Valid First Aid Certification (essential) ✔ Valid PrDP (essential) ✔ Minimum 5–8 years' luxury lodge guiding experience ✔ Previous experience as a Guide Trainer or Head Guide with a strong mentorship focus (non-negotiable) ✔ Experience in East Africa (Kenya and/or Tanzania) highly advantageous ✔ Strong understanding of wildlife, ecosystems, conservation, and safari operations ✔ Experience designing and implementing guide training programmes ✔ Excellent written and verbal English communication skills ✔ Swahili advantageous ✔ Valid passport with no travel restrictions ✔ Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills ✔ Ability to travel extensively and work across multiple remote properties ✔ Stable career history with excellent contactable references Key Responsibilities: • Assess and evaluate current guiding standards across all properties • Design and implement structured guide training programmes aligned with luxury hospitality standards • Conduct field-based mentoring, coaching, and practical guide assessments • Develop SOPs, training manuals, and guide development frameworks • Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice across the collection • Monitor guide performance and implement individual development plans • Assist with guide recruitment assessments and selection processes • Champion conservation education, ecological knowledge, and interpretive guiding excellence • Promote exceptional guest engagement and storytelling standards • Provide regular reporting to senior management on training progress and guide development initiatives Candidate Profile: • Passionate about guiding, conservation, and developing people • Natural mentor with strong coaching and leadership abilities • Professional, adaptable, and culturally sensitive • Highly organised with strong attention to detail • Comfortable working in remote environments and travelling extensively • Committed to delivering world-class safari experiences through people development • Enthusiastic about leaving a lasting impact across a respected luxury safari brand Package Includes: • USD 4,000 NETT per month • 3 Months On / 1 Month Off rotation • Live-in accommodation provided while in-house • Single occupancy accommodation • Work permits for Kenya and Tanzania arranged by the employer • Opportunity to work across an award-winning luxury safari collection Please note that only suitable candidates will be contacted.
